2016年台灣燈會22日將登場，19日起試營運，桃園市政府鼓勵民眾搭乘大眾運輸交通系統參觀登區；開車前往的民眾則建議停在大園海軍基地，當地可容納1萬2000個停車位，但避免行駛國道2號，以免影響機場交通。
桃園市長鄭文燦19日召開「賞燈會．交通宣導」記者會時，建議北部民眾開車可下國道1號南崁交流道，經台4線到大園海軍基地停車，轉接駁車僅10分鐘。
大園海軍基地停車場有1萬2000個停車位，現場有互動裝置、小提燈DIY及市集攤位，將提供民眾全方位的停車休息服務。
市府提醒，搭乘台鐵南下內壢站及北上楊梅站，可免費搭接駁車到會場；搭高鐵民眾至桃園站，出站即是台灣燈會；客運則有132、133、170、171、172、206、705、707、707A、5087、5089等路線，可直達登場。
市府也推出「台灣燈會快易go」手機APP，有「停車場剩餘車位馬上查」、「接駁車等待時間即時秀」、「接駁車GPS定位立即看」、「iBeacon燈區自動導覽」、「GPS定位燈區資訊立即收」、「停車位置導航」6大特色。
民眾只要下載2016年台灣燈會的「台灣燈會快易go」手機APP，就能透過智慧型手機掌握燈會各訊息。
